Etania’s Calling Book Club Questions

Hello there and thank you for stopping by! I designed these questions for book clubs that want to finish a book within a month and may have a weekly discussion online. You’re welcome to take these questions and use as many (or as little) as you wish. My only request is this: when you’re finished reading my book, would you mind sharing about it online? I would be happy to send you promotional materials and a book bonus for you and your members.

Chapters 1-7

  1. Etania suffers from nightmares because of her previous experiences. Do you dream? If so, are they pleasant or nightmares?
  2. What do you think about Prince Zaden?
  3. Many characters are keeping secrets. Have you ever kept a secret? What happened?
  4. Jazel successfully makes a contract with a demon. How has spiritual warfare impacted your life?

Chapters 8-14

  1. Do you agree or disagree with Keyel about forgiveness and trust? Why or why not?
  2. Etania and her companions learn about a sword that will enable them to defeat Jazel. What’s your favorite “magical” weapon?
  3. In this section, we’re introduced to the Lycan, wildcat tamers, which are very different from the Eritam, the wolf tamers. Would you rather have a wildcat or a wolf?
  4. Jakin is sidelined because of the curse. Have you ever felt useless or frustrated? What happened?

Chapters 15-21

  1. Werdna is a Lehrling from Nihon, my made-up asian fantasy island. What Asian Fantasy books have you read and enjoyed?
  2. The Lycan are matriarchal and the Equus are patriarchal. Do you think male or female leaders are better? Why?
  3. Jazel’s motherly instincts clash with her desire for vengeance. Do you have any sympathy for Jazel? What do you think of sympathetic villains?
  4. A theme of trusting God runs throughout this book. How have you struggled to trust God?
