If you like The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent…

After seeing this series circulate around the internet, I decided to start watching it, and I’m so glad I did! I also heard it is a light novel series, which makes me want to read those as well. There are so many ways in which this series relates to my own books, particularly those about Etania, that I had to write a blog post about it.

So, if you liked The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent, then you’ll like The Daughters of Tamnarae.

Here’s why.

1. Sei’s struggles with Self Worth Parallel Etania’s

Sei doesn’t think she is the Saint because she was glossed over for being “plain” and Aira was chosen instead. She grows in confidence as she learns how to correct her eyesight, starts wearing makeup, and is appreciated by her coworkers (Jude and Johan at first; Albert Hawke and Yuri Drewes later). Their godly love and concern transform her from a geeky, shy girl, to a powerful young woman.

In the same way, Etania struggles with believing she is beautiful and worthy of love. Over the course of the novel, Keyel shows in an interest in her because of her kindness towards others. Then, Melchizedek himself shows her that even if she is unworthy because of sin, he can make her worthy through his love. The love of both makes her into a powerful young woman, too.

2. Sei’s struggles with Calling Parallel Etania’s

Sei struggles with becoming the Saint because she is afraid of going out into battle (understandable), and feels like she might be mistaken (because of the Prince’s choice). Hawke and others help her realize that she can do it, and they will protect her. Her power is activated by love for another, and she shows just how “omnipotent” she can be by transforming places of evil into places of light.

In the same way, Etania struggles to accept her calling as the Vexli in Etania’s Worth. She can’t believe that Melchizedek would choose her to defeat evil monsters. She isn’t a fighter, and she prefers to be around books (just like Sei prefers to work in an herb garden). Yet, through the course of the novel, she goes in confidence and learns how to use her powers. Her abilities increase in the following book in the series, Etania’s Calling.

3. Sei’s relationship with Albert develops like Etania’s with Keyel

The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent; Albert and Sei Dancing

Sei and Albert Hawke’s courtship is the definition of love in 1 Corinthians 13. Hawke is patient, kind, and caring toward Sei. He supports her goals, protects her, and seeks to truly understand her. He does not bend to pressure to marry her right away, but instead seeks to help her come to accept the idea of marriage.

In the same way, Keyel patiently and kindly loves Etania. He is willing to be rejected by her in the first book, and then struggles with trusting her in the second. Even though their relationship is tested far more than Sei’s with Albert, in the end, they are able to forgive, trust, and love one another in marriage.

Also, Keyel and Albert both have blonde hair and blue eyes. 😉

4. Sei’s friendship with Elizabeth is similar to Etania’s friendships

Sei has a wonderful friendship with Elizabeth Ashley, who helps her understand the ways of the new world in which she has been isekai’ed. Ashley also stops nasty rumors, keeps her fiance accountable, and is also someone who boosts Sei’s confidence as well.

In the same way, Bayanna and Grace help Etania through her trials. Grace is always an open and willing ear to Etania’s woes. Bayanna helps Etania gain confidence in battle by teaching her personally and keeping a positive attitude. Both women uplift one another as friends.

Conclusion

If you’ve enjoyed the sweet, clean romance of The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent and you liked the adventure of stopping evil in its tracks, then you’ll enjoy The Daughters of Tamnarae (Books 1-3).
